Brush Cosmetology Program
The cosmetology program at Brush High School is designed to offer students specialized training and experience needed for successful Ohio State Boards of Cosmetology licensing. Students will learn sanitation, disinfecting, and safety procedures, industry related anatomy/chemistry and physiology, hair care, skin care, nail care and leadership skills. Successful completion of the two year program enables the student to test in Columbus to become a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Ohio. The cosmetology department and Cleveland Clinic have partnered to assist oncology patients with hand and arm massages, paraffin dips, and facials while receiving chemotherapy.

Past graduates have continued their post - secondary education at universities such as Kent State, University of Akron, and the University of Toledo and two-year colleges such including Cuyahoga and Lakeland Community College. Advanced training with Vidal Sassoon, Graham Webb, and Pivot Point have also furthered our students' careers.

Career opportunities include hair stylist, nail technician, make-up artist, esthetician, dermatologist assistant, and platform artist.

Tenth grade students interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology are encouraged to speak to their counselor to find out more about the program.

The Brush Cosmetology Clinic offers guests many services to enhance hair, skin and nails. We use professional products, such as Goldwell, ISO and Clairol. Our students are under the supervision of a licensed instructor and look forward to serving the community.
