SEL School Logo - FAQ’s

The South Euclid Lyndhurst Board of Education has trademarked the SEL logos. These logos make our District recognizable and identifiable within the communities around us.

These images are owned by the South Euclid Lyndhurst School District. Businesses, organizations, or private individuals wishing to use these trademarked images must first seek permission from the Athletic Office or Superintendent or designee. Unauthorized use of these images is not permitted.

 FAQ’s

  • Why are the logos protected? These logos help define and identify the District and its schools within the community. Therefore, the District seeks to protect these images and their use for events, activities, and materials that benefit the District and further its mission.

  • What do I need to do to use the images? Businesses or individuals seeking permission to use the trademarked logos for retail purposes must complete a Retail License Agreement, and are subject to a $100 annual administration fee and royalties, as determined by the South Euclid Lyndhurst Board of Education. Non-Retail License Agreement can be used for those wanting to use the trademarked logos in all other circumstances. In either situation, give us a call; our goal is to make this process user-friendly and as efficient as possible, while meeting our legal responsibility as the holders of the trademarked logos.
  • I already have a copy of the SEL logo; can I just use that? All logo reproductions associated with the District must be this updated version, which can be provided from the Athletic Office. This will ensure your copy of the logo is the correct quality and follows the SEL Logo Style Requirements that you need for your project.
  • Do I need permission if I want to use the logos on a product that I plan to sell or give away? Yes, all use of the trademarked logos must be authorized through the Athletic office or Superintendent/designee and must abide by the SEL Logo Guidelines.
  • Can I have shirts or hats printed up for my class reunion? Absolutely! Just coordinate with the Athletic Office to be sure you have the approved copy of the logo you would like to use. Terms of use and any applicable licensing fee may apply.
  • I see SEL t-shirts in popular retail stores in the area. How did they get these images? In February 2019, the Board of Education approved an agreement with K12 Licensing, which contracts with retailers, such as Wal-Mart, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Amazon. Our District receives royalties on the items that they sell.
