Each year, school districts in Ohio have the responsibility of identifying gifted learners in several categories. The district must provide an accurate child count to the Ohio Department of Education. In accordance with this state mandate, and as part of the South Euclid Lyndhurst assessment programming, all students in grade 2 and grade 4 will be taking standardized tests during the week of January 28, 2019. Classroom teachers will administer this testing.

During the week of January 25, 2016, all students in grade 2 and grade 4 will be taking standardized tests. The district will use the results from these tests not only to help identify students as gifted but they will also assist classroom teachers as they continue to work with students this year. The Ohio Association for Gifted Children (OAGC) will hold its annual Fall Conference from Sunday, October 16th – Tuesday, October 18th at the Hilton in Easton in Columbus, Ohio. Sunday will be Parent’s Day at OAGC. The keynote speaker is Johnathan Plucker, a Julian C. Stanley endowed professor of talent development at Johns Hopkins University.
