On Wednesday, April 18th, the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Board of Education hosted a District-wide open house to welcome its new Superintendent of Schools, Linda N. Reid. Community members, staff, students and families showed overwhelming support as they crowded the Administration Building’s auditorium to meet and welcome Ms. Reid to the SE-L family. The reception began with performances by Brush High School’s Chamber Ensemble, followed by a selection from Adrian Elementary School’s Gospel Choir.
Ms. Reid shared her eagerness and goals for the 2012-2013 school year with the audience, while also taking the time to speak with attendees individually. After, Ms. Reid was presented with an array of welcome gifts from staff and students including: an assortment of SE-L logo apparel and items from staff, an autographed baseball from Memorial Junior High School’s baseball team (following their victory over Garfield Heights), and a basket of fresh baked goods presented by Greenview’s special education team.
Ms. Reid will begin a three year term as Superintendent effective August 1, 2012. Ms. Reid comes to South Euclid-Lyndhurst after having served as Superintendent of Schools in Garfield Heights following a successful career as a teacher, Principal, Curriculum Director and Assistant Superintendent. She received a B.S. from Kent State University, her M. Ed. from John Carroll University and her Superintendent’s License from Cleveland State University.
