Sunview Students Recognize Fire Prevention Week

Sunview students celebrated Fire Prevention Week earlier this month with a variety of special activities, guest speakers and instruction. Recognized during the week of October 6th through October 12th this year, fire safety lessons were provided courtesy of the Lyndhurst Fire Department. Kindergarten students had the chance to take tours of the fire engine, and learned about the importance of checking fire detectors and how to stop, drop and roll if they ever caught on fire. 1st grade students had the special opportunity to have Fireman Zelinka, husband of Sunview teacher Christi Zelinka, as a guest speaker in their class to discuss his life in this profession. In all, students enjoyed such activity while learning valuable lessons on fire safety. Thank you to our public service providers for their willingness to help our students.
