South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools is collaborating with the University Hospitals EMS Training and Disaster Preparedness Institute, which has generously donated 390 Emergency Buckets, as well as local first responders, to provide Stop the Bleed training to staff in the District to be prepared in the event of an active shooter situation or other emergency. The training took place on Monday, August 13th and Tuesday, August 14th at Charles F. Brush High School to familiarize SEL Staff with Emergency Bucket contents, including vital supplies such as privacy cloths, rope, bottled water, color-coded tape, gauze and band-aids, among other items.  SEL Staff learned about life-saving techniques to control bleeding during emergency situations using the contents of the Emergency Bucket, including how to properly use a tourniquet.  Skill-stations were also provided to enable teachers and staff to practice the life-saving techniques in a hands-on setting. The SEL Schools expresses its gratitude to the partnership with University Hospitals EMS Training and Disaster Preparedness Institute and local first responders for the Emergency Bucket donation, valued at $40,000, and the associated training.
