High school sports: Players of the Week for Jan. 26
On the court: In games against South and Kenston, scored 25 points, grabbed 25 rebounds, blocked two shots and had two steals. Shot 50 percent from the field and 86 percent from the line.
Off the court: Nicknames include Katie and Kate. Favorite show is “Pure Genius,” because “it’s interesting how the doctors use advanced technology and new ideas to cure their patients.” Hobbies include basketball and softball. Enjoys math, “because I like to solve equations.” Favorite food is pasta. Enjoys the music of Twenty One Pilots. Favorite team is the Cavaliers and favorite player is Channing Frye. Favorite movies are the “Fast and the Furious” franchise and “Now You See Me 2.”
On the mat: Is 24-2 with 18 pins, including a recent decision over a state-ranked 195-pounder from Padua; won the Kenston Invitational Tournament earlier this season.
Off the mat: “Sauce” is considering playing football or baseball in college. Hobbies include taking naps with his gecko Blaze and competitive dog grooming. Favorite classes are AP calculus and the CEO of the Excel Tecc Marketing Program at Beachwood. Favorite food is macaroni and cheese. Favorite movie is “Step Brothers.” Favorite shows are “The League” and “The Office.” Favorite song is “iSpy” by Kyle and Lil Yachty. Favorite teams are the Carolina Panthers, Indians and Cavaliers.
On the lanes: Bowled a 190-192 in a win over Brunswick and 190-237 in a win over Kenston.
Off the lanes: Favorite show is “Chicago Fire.” Favorite team is the Cavaliers. Enjoys bowling and watching her sisters play basketball.
On the court: Averaged 17 points and eight assists per game in three wins against West Geauga, Harvey and Brecksville. Posted back-to-back double-doubles of 19 points-10 assists and 20-10 against Harvey and Brecksville.
Off the court: Favorite food is steak. Favorite subject is English. Favorite team is the Cavaliers. Enjoys music and hanging out with friends.
