Brush Art Students Support 2nd Annual Empty Bowls Event

Students and staff from the Brush High School Art Department are proud to support the upcoming 2nd Annual Empty Bowls Event, which will take place on Friday April 21st, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Eastlake North High School Café. The event seeks to raise funds and awareness in the fight against hunger by providing a simple soup and bread dinner in ceramic bowls, created and donated by students from Western Reserve Conference schools, including Brush, Eastlake North, Willoughby South, Kenston, Chardon, West Geauga and Riverside. The cost of admission is $10 per person and includes a soup dinner, live entertainment, and a hand-made ceramic bowl to keep as a reminder about the issue of hunger and the many ‘empty bowls’ that exist in our community and around the world. All food for the event will be donated by fifteen local restaurants and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to surrounding area food banks, including a community food pantry at a local South Euclid church. The district invites the entire SEL community to participate in this wonderful event to help give back to the community.
