The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools were finely represented at the 2nd Annual SEL Appreciation Day this past weekend at Legacy Village, where several hundred participants joined in an afternoon of performances, student demonstrations and school pride. For the second straight year, and in partnership with Legacy Village, the SEL Schools has created a special day where organizations at all grade levels could showcase various talents, skills or lessons from the classroom. The afternoon ceremoniously commenced with the Brush High School Marching Band tapping beats and playing tunes as they paraded through the very heart of Legacy Village. Superintendent Linda N. Reid welcomed guests, introduced City of Lyndhurst Mayor Patrick Ward and City of South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo and encouraged people to visit a variety of student tents and booths that lined Blossom Way. Some of those stops included the Brush Cheerleaders, Robotics and AVTV organization. Greenview Upper Elementary featured a booth for S.T.E.M. Lab activities as well as stenciling and face painting, among many others. Performances throughout the afternoon included the High School Jazz Band, Chorale groups and Varsity Singers. Greenview’s Arc Performers along with The SEL Elementary All-Star Arts performance took place later in the day. Concluding with a raffle grand drawing, a wide range of fun and educational opportunities characterized the 2nd annual SEL Appreciation Day. Thank you to everyone who participated, organized and played a role in coordinating what has become an excellent showcase of the great things taking place in the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools.
