Memorial Students to CWRU for Anatomy Camp

case

The South Euclid Lyndhurst School District is constantly working to apply its mission on a daily basis.  One such core belief: education must focus on the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of students, was in action when 61 of our students were afforded the opportunity to travel to CASE for Anatomy Camp.

Our seventh and eighth grade high achieving science students in Mrs. Tisdale and Mr. Bezdek’s classes were treated to anatomy camp hosted by Case Western Reserve University.  The anatomy camp is an academic experience that uses hands-on learning aimed at students interested in possibly going into pre-med majors in college. Students had the opportunity to inspect real anatomical specimens, while also learning anatomy and some biomedical engineering. In addition, the junior high campers looked at case studies to diagnose the effects of alcoholism on the body’s organs.

This amazing field trip was organised by the SEL gifted education program and the ALPHA group, that continually seeks opportunity to offer advanced learning for high achievers.
