Memorial Students Learn About Public Safety Careers

safety

Approximately twenty-five Memorial students who previously expressed an interest in learning more about public safety careers attended a special interactive presentation with local public safety professionals in the school’s Media Center on Friday, April 12, 2019.  The Cities of South Euclid and Lyndhurst were well represented at the presentation and included Chief of Police Rick Porrello and Firefighter/Paramedic Matt Miller from the City of Lyndhurst, in addition to Assistant Fire Chief David Csire and Firefighter/Paramedic Jamie Moroney from the City of South Euclid.  Additional guest speakers included Postal Inspectors Michael Adams and Bryon Green from the U.S. Postal Inspection Services. During the program, each presenter shared about the day to day experience of their job, as well as the level of education, training and requirements necessary to pursue a career in their specific field.  Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and treated to a delicious lunch of pizza and other refreshments.  The SEL Schools thank all guest presenters for taking the time to inform and inspire our students about future career opportunities.
