Greenview Upper Elementary 4th graders recently had the opportunity to showcase their literary and spelling skills on February 20, 2019, during the annual Spelling Bee competition. The Spelling Bee gave student the chance to demonstrate the hard work that has been invested in the classroom and in their own individual work. Placing the students in a larger, competitive setting enhanced the excitement and satisfaction of a job well done. The SEL Schools would like to congratulate “Team Athens” on their First Place victory, and which included Emily Bull, Michelle Lorton, and Maria Harris. “Team Tokyo” finished in Second Place, and included Cody Smith-Green, Thomas Nolan and Santino Fortunato. Finishing in Third Place was “Team Montreal,” represented by Taya Pempton, Marcus Burts and Malaiya Gresham. A special word of gratitude is extended to Gifted Coordinator Dr. Debra Barrickman, for her organization of this event.
