Sunview Celebrates Black History

Students from Sunview Elementary School shared their celebration and enthusiasm for Black History month with a spirited set of theatrical and dance performances by students of all grades. While the entire Kindergarten through Grade 3 student body participated in the singing of three interactive songs, students from various grades shared their talents in extra special ways. For example, 3rd graders modeled movements, while 2nd grade students from Mrs. Kidwell’s class played instruments. Seven 3rd graders performed a dance selection to a song called, “Keep your eyes on the Prize.” Aliyah Wheeler, another third grade student, recited a poem entitled, “I too am America,” by Langston Hughes. A special thank you goes out to music teacher, Carleen Johnstone. On behalf of the SEL Schools, congratulations to the Sunview student body for their active role in celebrating Black History Month.
