On Friday, 4/26 a group of Sunview students celebrated Arbor day by planting a tree at Brainard Park. Lyndhurst Arborist Tom Morgan along with other members of the Lyndhurst service department met with the students and families and explained that they would be planting a Sawtooth Oak, which is a type of Oak tree native to Asia. The city is currently trying to plant a variety of tree species in an attempt to find some that can withstand the changes in our climate.  This Oak tree has a life expectancy of 100 years, and will grow about 25 feet tall.  The tree is expected to double in size within five years.  When you visit Brainard park, please visit the tree and see how it is growing!  It is to the right of the splash park entrance near the Brainard Road parking lot.
