Brush High Graduates Class of 2019

The Charles F. Brush High School Class of 2019 celebrated its commencement ceremony earlier this week at the beautiful Connor Palace Theater in Playhouse Square before a capacity audience of family, friends and other members from the community. Excitement, happiness and a profound sense of accomplishment filled the air as students completed the official requirements of their high school careers. This particular class was one who exceeded expectations on a collective level, while at the same time elevating individual members to the elite ranks of Brush High School history. The Class of 2019 earned an amazing $7.9 million in total scholarships, awards and honors and accumulated an incredible 15,820 hours of community service. 11 members of the Class of 2019 will join a branch of the U.S. Armed Services. Valedictorian Kareem King earned a full ride scholarship to Harvard University to study Molecular Cellular Biology, working towards a combined MD/PhD Program. Rebecca Rossi scored a perfect 36 out of 36 on her ACT exam and has accepted a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University with a value of approximately $240,000. She intends to be a Veterinarian one day. Darshan Adhikari, who is a Nepalese refugee, will be attending Case Western Reserve University on an academic scholarship. Max Campbell is being offered a full tuition scholarship to The Ohio State University through the United States Air Force ROTC program, approximately $60,000 in total value. Julia Kiefer, who was National Merit semi-finalist , is attending Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with a full tuition, room and board scholarship that carries a value of approximately $60,000 each year. The Class of 2019 has been described by Principal Karl Williamson as outgoing, spirited and close-knit. These attributes, combined with the tremendous collective and individual accomplishments of these graduating seniors make them a Class that will always be remembers.
