Rock Band Comprised of Brush HS Students to Compete in Final Round of 2014 Tri-C High School Rock Off

Four Brush High School students will seek to claim the title of “Best Rock Band” at the 2014 Tri-C High School Rock Off “Final Exam”, which begins at 4 PM on Saturday, February 1st at the House of Blues Cleveland.  The Independent features junior Mason Nozik (guitar, vocals), sophomore Michael Taddeo (drums), senior Kevin Roche (bass, vocals), and senior Patrick Farmer (guitar).  The band was one of only fifteen bands to be selected from an original pool of fifty-five other high school musical groups to move on to the final round.

The four band members of The Independent have been playing together for the past 2.5 years, and categorize their sound as “alternative indie grunge rock”, citing modern bands such as Cage the Elephant and Bloc Party as major musical influences.  Tickets for the upcoming “Final Exam” of the 2014 Tri-C High School Rock Off can be purchased at either http://www.houseofblues.com/venues/clubvenues/cleveland or at House of Blues Cleveland located at East Fourth and Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland.

The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools would like to congratulate Mason Nozik, Michael Taddeo, Kevin Roche and Patrick Farmer for their accomplishments thus far, and wish them continued success for their upcoming performance on February 1st in the Rock Off Final Exam!
