The artistic talents of Brush High School art students were on full display recently, as they received a total of twenty-eight awards at the regional competition of the 34th Annual Scholastic Art and Writing Exhibition. Over 1,000 students from Cuyahoga County created and submitted over 2,000 pieces of artwork and writing samples for the exhibition. The award ceremony was held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, and all winning artwork will be displayed in the Reinberger Galleries at the Cleveland Institute of Art from January 13 – 31, 2014. Artwork submitted by Brush Seniors Anthony Messina, “Impatience” and Dayna Fine, “Shipwrecked” were recognized for their distinction with a Gold Key Award, and will be featured in the upcoming national competition in New York City in May 2014.
