Brush Sponsors Holiday Family Drive for South Euclid Lyndhurst Residents

The East Gym at Brush High School was alive with spirit of the holiday season on Thursday, December 19th. The Brush High School Student Congress, under the direction this year of Mr. Laplanche and Mrs. Malone, once again sponsored the Holiday Family Drive. Thirteen families received gifts and clothing from homerooms that “adopted” them. Each family was also given boxes of groceries, which included among other items, a turkey with fixings, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruits and canned vegetables. In addition to the thirteen families that received gifts and food, four additional families as well as twenty six senior citizens received groceries to help them supplement their holiday fare.

Student Congress Officers spent the morning of December 19th delivering food baskets to the holiday families in the South Euclid and Lyndhurst communities. Candidates’ names are submitted by Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services and the cities of South Euclid and Lyndhurst as well as the Consortium on Aging. Funding for this project is made possible through generous donations by students, staff and the annual Student Congress Homecoming Dance.

Thanks to everyone involved in this very touching holiday initiative!
