Brush Arcs Football Team Overcomes Slow Start to Remain Undefeated in Conference Play; Defeats Valley Forge, 53-36

The Brush Arcs overcame a slow start that led to a 16-0 first quarter deficit, to remain undefeated in conference play by defeating the Valley Forge Patriots 53-36.  Stephen Shorts also overcame three interceptions, including one that was returned 39 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter by Valley Forge. 

The Arcs responded after the first quarter by scoring 26 unanswered points in the second quarter to finish the first half with a 26-16 lead.  The Arcs exploded for 47 points in the second and third quarters combined to make the score 47-22 at the end of the third quarter.  Arcs Quarterback, Stephen Shorts, threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding a rushing touchdown to lead Brush to a 53-36 win over Valley Forge on Friday night.  All three touchdowns were to Ugochukwu Onuwar, who caught passes of 37, 45 and 37 yards from Shorts. 

The Arcs rushing touchdown leaders were Davari Gill and Dontez Nation, who each scored two touchdowns.  Davari Gill carried the ball 13 times for 123 yards while Darryl McCluney also rushed for 66 yards on only four carries.
