Brush Girls Soccer Having Strong Season

Brush Girls Soccer Having Strong Season

The Brush Arcs Girls Soccer Team is having a great season this year. On Wednesday night, the Arcs delivered a 5-0 win over Parma. This win brought the team together and established the Arcs as a strong contender in the Cleveland Girls Soccer landscape. The Arcs have several key victories, including an earlier inspiring win against the rival Mayfield Wildcats in August.

Last night, Cydnee Martin scored three goals, Amber McDonald and Ashli Smedli both scored one a piece. Lindsey Woyma delivered a 5 to 0 shut out as goalie, as she continues to stack up saves for this season.

Earlier in the year, our very own Brush Lady Arcs Soccer team defeated the Mayfield Wildcats 2-1 at Mayfield High School. Outstanding defensive play was turned in from Torai Slaughter and Tabore Zamora, while spirited midfield play from Becky Washington and Amber McDonald helped the Lady Arcs to victory. The lightning-fast dual striker combination of Cydnee Martin and Hannah McMillian permitted the Lady Arcs to accomplish this victory that is the first against Mayfield in many years. The Arcs were led offensively by Cydnee Martin, who scored both goals early in each half, and on the defensive end with unparalleled goalie play by Lindsay Woyma. Despite relentless barrage of late game opportunities, the Arcs remained tough throughout, losing the coveted shutout with only four seconds remaining.
