Fourth Graders Take Annual Trip to See World Renowned Cleveland Orchestra

Just this month, the fourth graders of Greenview took their annual trip to Severance Hall to see the Cleveland Orchestra. The title of this concert was, " Tchaikovsky Discovers America" with the drama troupe "Classical Kids LIVE" acting out the story.  The students were also entertained by a member of the Orchestra prior to the concert when he brought his double bass to the balcony for all to see and a few to play!  Students enjoyed the hour long concert which featured selections from The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Serenade for String Orchestra, Op. 48, and ended with the familiar "1812" Overture.
This field trip, besides introducing SEL students to the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra, is also in alignment with the Ohio Music Educator State Standards for fourth grade. A good time was had by all!
