Adrian Students’ “Star Behavior” Recognized with Fun and Educational Weekly Routines

As an educational and fun method of advancing the Positive Behavior Support Initiative, known as PBIS for short, Adrian Elementary Students are experiencing a great deal of excitement while enriching themselves as well.  PBIS is an exciting initiative taking place at all of our schools.

The new program at Adrian consists of a STAR Behavior “flow chart” that helps monitor student behavior on a daily basis. When one of the students is ‘caught being good,’ he or she is rewarded with Adrian “STAR Bucks.” Those Star Bucks can go towards individual prizes and other incentives as accumulated. In addition, whole classes are being rewarded on a weekly basis for their collective efforts with a Specialist Trophy, signifying its commitment to the PBIS undertaking. Even more, each Friday during the week has been re-named “Fun Friday,” to deliberately reinforce the PBIS standards throughout the day. Each week culminates with a raffle that selects one student per classroom as a winner for demonstrating STAR behavior. In all, Adrian Elementary School has certainly placed a premium on instilling the PBIS values with its student body.
