Wednesday, August 28, 2013 marked the official start of the 2013-2014 school year, as students returned to buildings while staff members enthusiastically welcomed their arrival. Students carried with them book bags, notebooks and pencils, and also an added sense of excitement and anticipation that accompanies this time of year. District Superintendent Linda N. Reid was on hand throughout the district to ensure smooth operations at all the buildings, and a number of welcome-back assemblies that took place today as well. The district is moving fast on a number of meaningful initiatives, including the hiring of new staff at all levels of the district, the implementation of the strategic plan and the unveiling of new district logos and collateral on the Web, at events and in print.
