Come watch the Brush Arcs (1-0) face the Lakeside Dragons (1-0) for their home opener on Friday, September 6th. Game time is at 7:00 PM and features a magnetic schedule for the first 1,000 fans! The Arcs began their quest for a three-peat for the conference championship with a 36-22 victory against Padua. In addition, the Brush AVTV crew has been busy putting together material for a new full video, LED scoreboard that was purchased through advertising dollars. The upcoming home schedule also includes the first ever promotional giveaway schedule, featuring rally towels, t-shirts, seat cushions, Arc foam lightning bolts and sling bags.
After leading Brush last season to back to back conference championships (after a conference championship drought since 1983), Coach Josh Wells has his sights set on the playoffs in 2013. Wells, in his first year at the helm, directed the Arcs to an unbeaten record in the Northeast Ohio Conference Lake Division last year. He was one of six coaches honored as coach of the year by the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association in 2012. The Brush Arcs started the season strong by defeating the Padua Bruins last week, 36-22. The victory gave the Arcs their first win in a road opener in the past 14 years.
With 13 returning starters, 32 returning lettermen and plenty of size and experience on both sides of the line, the Arcs should challenge for a spot in the postseason.
In the Sun News preview of the team, the team is reported to have a good mix of strength and experience on the offensive and defensive lines. In addition, the quarterback and returning skill positions have speed and toughness.
