Brush Students Win Top Three Spots at Regional MLK Oratorical Competition

Brush High School delivered an impressive showing at the regional competition of the 2014 Statewide MLK Oratorical Competition, as Taylor Wynne (First Place), Danyelle Dukes (Second Place) and Jaylen Perkins (Third Place) finished in the top three spots of the Senior Division. All three students will have the opportunity to compete at the state competition in April. The regional competition took place on Saturday, February 22nd at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oakwood Village. This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of the competition, which provides students the opportunity to celebrate the legacy and non-violent principles of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is organized by the Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission, which honors Dr. King’s achievements through various events and awards.

The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools wish to congratulate all three students for their impressive performances, and wish them success at the upcoming state competition!
