Greenview’s 5th Grade Team Finishes 1st at the City Wide Equations Math Competition

Greenview’s 5th Grade Team Finishes 1st at the City Wide Equations Math Competition

A big congratulations to the fifth grade Math team from Greenview for finishing first overall in team scoring at the Equations competition hosted by the Educational Service Center. They came in first out of 13 districts!!!

 

Congratulations Michael Butler, Michael Chen, Gianni Fitch, Matt Kendig, and Drew Schlegel for this great accomplishment. Drew Schlegel, previous first place winner from the fourth grade division, retained his title as first place winner of the fith grade division and won first place overall out of all mathematicians. That incluides every student from fourth grade all the way up to eighth grade.  Amazing!  Congratulations Drew! Also, a big congratulations goes out to Alex Neyman from the seventh and eighth grade team for finishing in second place in the Junior High division. This team included Alex Neyman, Ikenna Okoro, Peighton Taylor, Jenna Perry, Marc Saxe, and Kennedy Yeager. The sixth grade team also played very well. That team includes Noah Brock, John King, Jaden Bates, Sloane Boukobza, and Spencer Presley. A special thanks to our scorekeepers in this tournament, Isaac Alexander, Kennedy Yeager, and Rebecca Rossi. Special thanks go out to the STEP UP program for all of the support to make these young math students great players at this game.
