Grant Funding Provides Staff and Students with Book that Offers a Hamster’s Perspective on Humanity

With financial help generated by the successful application to the One Book/One School initiative by Title One teacher Joanne Edelstein, staff members and students each received their very own book about a Hamster’s perspective on humanity. Entitled, "The World According to Humphrey," the book is about a hamster named Humphrey, who resides in a classroom. Throughout, the story involves Humphrey's reflections on the classroom, through the perspective of a hamster. The book also describes Humphrey's impact when he goes home with students over the weekend. Various members of the SEL Staff who received the book through the grant funding, including Superintendent Linda N. Reid and Police Liaison, Mike Fink can be found reading Humphrey’s tale, chapter by chapter, online and you can view this by clicking the link below, at http://www.sel.k12.oh.us/OneBookOneSchool.aspx.

Congratulations to the Adrian team for a wonderful endeavor, and for finding the right story which looks at us, as humans, in a unique perspective.
