The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools were recently awarded with the state’s first annual Momentum Award, presented to the district on behalf of the Ohio Board of Education. This award has been given to the SEL Schools for their strong performance on the 2014-2015 State Report Card, particularly for earning A’s in every Value-Added metric. SEL Schools were among the elite school districts in the state, according to the State Board of Education, that ensured its pupils received a year’s worth of academic growth in reading and mathematics. The Momentum Award is designed to recognize school districts that support academic growth of students from every background or learning ability. From the perspective of the President of the Ohio Board of Education, the SEL Schools is “keeping the learning momentum high".
