Rowland Students "Possibilities are Endless"

On Wednesday, May 18th Rowland Elementary School hosted Career Day with the theme, 'OUR POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS.’ Eighteen professionals visited Rowland and spoke to students about their careers, engaged in activities with the students and shared the 'Endless Possibilities' Rowland students have for their future. Speakers included a NASA engineer, dentist, television camera man, politician, college recruiter, personal trainer, pastor, author, hair stylist, nurse's aide, massage therapist, actor and professional choreographer. Our own Superintendent Linda Reid, Board Member Cassandra Jones and Brush Head Basketball Coach Chet Mason came and spoke to the students as well. Students received dental kits, held a mock election, experienced the roles of a television camera man, and learned dance and exercise routines. To add more excitement to the day, students also dressed up in their aspiring careers’ attire. A very special thank you to Mrs. Karen Jones and Mrs. Denise Toney for coordinating Rowland's Career Day. An informative and fun day was enjoyed by all.
