Students Perform Mock Trial With Judge Bozza

The Memorial 7th and 8th grade STEP UP and ALPHA students partook in an amazing enrichment opportunity with Judge Mary Kay Bozza in the Lyndhurst Municipal Court.

The students performed a Mock Trial called DUI which pitted the prosecution team of Sloane Boukobza and Emily Drenen (Vehicular Homicide), versus the defense team of Nicholas Anderson, Steven Hensley, and Liam Orsagos (high school student Alex Filn).

The other students served as either jury members or role players relative to the case.

All the students received instruction on the judiciary process in America and hopefully gained insight into the dangers they will face as they encounter peer pressure and difficult choices as they maneuver through adolescence into adulthood.

The skills of the honorable Judge Bozza never cease as she worked with our students on their questioning techniques, court room protocols, and trial procedures. Future lawyers extraordinaire!

A special thank you to the Lyndhurst Court for providing this wonderful opportunity.
