Rowland Kicks Off Compliments Program

As part of the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports program, Rowland Elementary School recently kicked-off a new program designed to promote positive behavior. Named the “Compliments Program,” all classes at Rowland, including 16 total homerooms, staff members, aides and custodians are able to accumulate points by demonstrating PBIS expectations in routine daily activities, such as walking the hallways or interacting with other students and adults. When those expectations are met or exceeded, a compliment from an adult is accompanied by a ‘point.’ The classroom with the most points in one week, wins a trophy for that week and recognition at the forthcoming Monday morning assembly. Congratulations to Mrs. Difrancesco’s class, which is the very first winner of this initiative at Rowland Elementary School, and all the best to the entire Rowland family for exhibiting positive behavior.
