On Thursday, September 17, 2015, Greenview, Rowland and Sunview Elementary Schools participated in the 2015 Father’s Walk. The annual event is sponsored by the Cuyahoga Fatherhood Initiative and provides fathers and father-figures the opportunity to demonstrate support for their child’s education by walking with their child to school. Each school was well represented during the event, which concluded with refreshments and a special presentation inside each respective school’s gymnasium. School administrators and other speakers took a moment to thank all those who participated, as well as emphasize the importance of being an active and positive presence in the life of their child. All participants were then given the opportunity to recite a Father’s Pledge together, which stated their commitment to supporting their child’s learning and regularly communicating the importance of doing their best in school.
