Brush Student Congress Holiday Family Drive

The East Gym at Brush High School will be alive with spirit of the holiday season on Thursday, December 18th. The Brush High School Student Congress, under the direction this year of Mr. Laplanche and Mrs. Malone, once again will sponsor the Holiday Family Drive. Ten families will receive gifts and clothing from homerooms that “adopted” them. Each family will  also be given boxes of groceries, which will include among other items, a turkey with fixings, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruits and canned vegetables. In addition to the ten families that will receive gifts and food, several additional families as well as twenty six senior citizens will receive groceries to help them supplement their holiday fare.

Student Congress Officers will spend the morning of December 18th delivering food baskets to the holiday families in the South Euclid and Lyndhurst communities. Candidates’ names are submitted by Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services and the cities of South Euclid and Lyndhurst as well as the Consortium on Aging. Funding for this project is made possible through generous donations by students, staff and the annual Student Congress Homecoming Dance.

Thanks to everyone involved in this very touching holiday initiative!
