Brush Mock Trial Team Makes School History, Advances to Regional Competition

The Charles F. Brush High School Mock Trial team had a strong showing at the recent Ohio Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the Ohio Center for Law Related Education and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center. Brush High School featured two teams, Team Brush and Team Arcs, who competed against other nearby school districts including Shaker, Orange and Solon. Both teams won their respective competitions, showcasing a mastery of legal prowess, organization and communications skills. The following students were recognized by receiving outstanding attorney awards: Yehowseouf Brown, Jaylen and Kenyon Spotts. Isaiah Johnson and Taylor Hurt both received outstanding witness awards. Because of their outstanding performance, both Brush High School teams have earned a berth at the regional competition for the first time in school history, which takes place at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse on February 19, 2016. The members of the 2016 mock trial team include: Seth Weekly, Amir Durrah, Shelby Cooper, Amy Chen, Jon Alexander, Nicole Vavro, Isaiah Johnson, Taleja Thomas, Maurice Swift, Taylor Hurt, Peyton Crismor, Jaylen Perkins, Jada Ray, Yehowseouf Brown, Elana Flores and Nina Wells. Congratulations on your efforts and for finely representing the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools.
