Spotlight Shines on Memorial Students at Talent Show

Students at Memorial Junior High School showcased their impressive musical and performance abilities at Memorial’s Got Talent 2015 Talent Show, on Tuesday, June 2nd. Memorial teacher Ms. Andrea Anderson started the ceremony with an impressive performance of "The Star Spangled Banner". Student Jayden Whitfield served as the emcee of the talent show, which featured a wide variety of instrumental and vocal performances by over thirty students.

Darren Rolston played a lively rendition of “We Could Be Heroes” on alto saxophone, while Gavin Booker played the elegant Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel on violin. The talent show also featured several memorable duets, including Diamond Jackson and Morgan Knowles singing “Treat Me Like Somebody” by Tink G. Mario Proctor and Shyla White’s energetic cover of “Nobody Love” by Tori Kelly brought enthusiastic cheers from their fellow classmates. Chamirra Lewis’ passionate performance of “Halo” by Beyoncé had students clapping along and stomping to the infectious beat, while Kristopher Weeks showcased some impressive performance skills, donning a fedora to perform “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. 

Memorial’s Got Talent 2015 also featured some original student performances, including Tim Black and J.J. Gales performing “The Young T’s”, an original rap song. William Noel, Alonn Green and Daeveon Hester pumped up the crowd with a performance of “Cleveland Cavs”, an original song dedicated to the Wine and Gold.

At the conclusion of the show, staff members awarded each performer with an award certificate. Congratulations to all of the performers at Memorial’s Got Talent 2015 Talent Show!
