September 29th Edition
Boys Soccer moved into 6th place in the News-Herald Top of the Crop this past week behind the WRC’s leading goal scorer Brett Gordon, solid defense and timely goalkeeping by Justin Hamilton. The Arcs played to a tough 2-2 against the conference leading, Riverside. This past Tuesday, they fell to Kenston, 2-1. They now sit at 7-3-2 on the season and will host Benedictine and Cleveland Heights. They will close out the WRC schedule with games against North and Madison.
Girls Soccer played to a 0-0 tie this past Saturday against Perry. The team then dropped a WRC game to Kenston on Tuesday, 5-0. They’re now 4-8-1 on the season. The team is led in scoring by freshman Kennedy Kemp with 14 goals. The girls will be back on the field on the field next Tuesday against North.
Volleyball improved to 6-3 in non-conference matches after taking third place in the Bison Midseason Invitational, defeating Fairport and CCC, losing in the semifinals to Chippewa. They fell in three sets to Madison on Tuesday. They will play in the WRC Tournament starting Thursday at Riverside. The team will play their final home game on October 10th against Normandy. The team received a positive mention the Weekly Notes section of the News-Herald volleyball coverage.
Boys Golf competed at the WRC Tournament last week at Quail Hollow. The Arcs were led by junior Tyler Iacobucci who scored an 89 over 18 holes.
