Greenview Officially Opens New STEM Labs

As a means to further expose students to science applications and preparatory learning for careers in technology in the future, Greenview Upper Elementary is excited to open its new STEM lab. New to the building this year, this STEM lab will help to put the study of science, technology, engineering and math into proper real-world contexts for our students. Led through a district-wide initiative spearheaded by Dr. Veronica Motley and the Office of Teaching and Learning, in addition to several community grants that helped to make this lab possible, students will be able to learn on Chromebooks and a specific curriculum purchased by the district. These lessons will help students with hands-on lessons and interactive problem solving that will align with state standards at each grade level. Special thank you to everyone involved who helped to make this STEM lab opening possible, and also to Encore teacher Erin Macsurak who will meet with each class at least 1 time during the 8-day encore rotation. Erin will help support the science curriculum at each grade level through the activities she has planned for students to participate in.
