On Thursday, October 2nd, students at Memorial Junior High earned the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun activities by meeting their first quarter learning goal, as part of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program (PBIS). All students who received a passing grade in their Intervention/Enrichment class on their first quarter progress report were eligible to participate in the activities, which included basketball in the gym, karaoke, and outdoor activities including inflatable games, a rock climbing wall, soccer, flag football, kickball and tug-of-war. The PBIS program is geared towards modeling and teaching positive behaviors, and rewarding students for meeting specific goals. Over 99% of students met their first quarter goal and were able to participate in the fun program on Thursday afternoon.
The SEL schools would like to thank the members of the PBIS committee for helping to organize the event, including Bridgette Johnson, Melissa Canowitz, Laura Mayher, Stefanie Slain, Paula Morgan, Sue Cicero, John Romanoff and Brett Spicer.
Congratulations to all students who met their goal and participated on Thursday!
