Artwork created by Brush junior Kayla Feagin recently went viral on Twitter thanks to the enthusiastic support of her sister who shared pictures of the creation online, resulting in over 2,000 retweets and nearly 4,000 likes!  Kayla is currently taking an Advanced Drawing and Painting class taught by instructor Sarah Curry, and created the artwork as part of an “Unconventional Portrait” assignment that required students to create a portrait of their choosing utilizing unconventional art materials.  Using embroidery thread, Kayla created a beautiful and incredibly creative portrait depicting her best friend and fellow junior, Arionne Holden.  The piece of upholstery fabric used as a surface for the portrait was generously donated by The Bussey’s, a Brush family and owners of Bussey's Upholstery Foam 'N' Fabric Inc., located at 2311 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights.

The massive outpouring of praise from individuals and organizations, including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Cleveland, caught the attention of Fox-8 News Cleveland.  The full story from Fox-8 News can be viewed online.  In the future, Kayla hopes to study art in college.  Congratulations to Kayla Feagin on her noteworthy artistic achievement!
