Memorial Celebrates 70th Anniversary
70

To help celebrate the school’s landmark 70th anniversary, the students and staff at Memorial Junior High participated in several fun and creative activities on Friday, April 27, 2018.  First, the entire 8th grade class organized together in the new gym and formed the number ‘70’ for a special photo opportunity.  The new school gym was then transported back to the era of disco, bell-bottoms and lava lamps, as the entire student body celebrated the anniversary in ‘groovy’ fashion with a 1970’s themed dance.  Students and staff dressed in their best 70’s themed attire, with trophies awarded to those students voted to have the best costume.  The decade’s top disco and funk hits filled the gym, and students who ‘boogied’ the most on the dance floor received special side prizes, including gift cards and snacks.   The dance was a fun, ‘far-out’ incentive to reward students for their hard work in completing scheduled A.I.R. testing over the past three weeks.  Congratulations to the students at Memorial for their effort and dedication to succeed!
