Judge Mary Kaye Bozza Educates 7th Graders on Importance of Making Good Choices

On Friday, March 3rd, Lyndhurst Municipal Court Judge Mary Kaye Bozza visited each 7th Grade social studies class at Memorial Junior High to talk about the importance of making good choices, and how making the wrong choice can have permanent consequences. During the twenty-five-minute presentation, Judge Bozza used real-life situations and examples to demonstrate how the consequences of poor decisions can outlast punishments handed down by courts and the legal system. Judge Bozza also encouraged students to continue to work hard and pursue academic achievement, sharing that those same characteristics enabled her to achieve her goals and obtain a career in the legal profession. At the end of the presentation, students were given the opportunity to participate in a Q & A session with Judge Bozza, and asked many thoughtful and insightful questions. Each classroom also engaged in a follow-up activity reflecting on the key ideas they learned from Judge Bozza’s remarks. The SEL Schools wishes to thank Judge Mary Kaye Bozza for taking the time to speak with our students on the importance of making smart choices!
