Fire Prevention Week

In honor of National Fire Prevention Week, which officially took place beginning on Monday, October 15, 2018, elementary students in the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools were incentivized to learn extra safety protocols by the South Euclid Fire Department. Winners of the Adrian Elementary School coloring contest were awarded earlier in the week with a pizza party and one fortunate student, Lawyer Hale, won a brand new bicycle, courtesy of Wal Mart. The pizza party and bike contest winner were selected based upon a coloring contest that was judged by the South Euclid Fire Department. The Top 20 student artists who colored pictures based upon fire prevention earned pizza and soda, along with an informative presentation by Scott Sebastian, the City of South Euclid’s Fire Inspector. Among the Top 20 pictures, the very best was selected to win the brand new bicycle. Among the lessons that were reinforced were having a safety plan for your home and other valuable reminders. The winners at Rowland Elementary School will be rewarded in the near future as well. Thank you to the City of South Euclid Fire Department for incentivizing our students, imparting important reminders and remaining true community partners.
