Ohio ICAC Presentation Helps 7th Graders Learn About the Importance of Online Safety

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, 7th grade students at Memorial Junior High attended a presentation in the school library by Lexi Giering from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force regarding the issues of internet safety and responsible digital citizenship.  The presentation utilized informational videos, real-life examples from past Ohio ICAC Task Force investigations and interactive dialogue to discuss a variety of online safety topics including cyberbullying, using social media and apps responsibly, and protecting online privacy.  The Ohio ICAC is chaired by Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley and is a collaboration of more than 350 affiliated agencies from the city, county, state and federal level which seeks to stop the online exploitation of children.  Thank you to the Ohio ICAC Task Force for taking the time to meet and discuss with our students the importance of online safety.
