Stone Soup Magazine Publishes Article Written by Greenview 4th Grader

Skylar Carroscia, a 4th grade student at Greenview Upper Elementary School, recently wrote an article that was featured in the December 2017 issue of Stone Soup.  An impressive accomplishment considering that Stone Soup is a literary magazine that publishes student artwork and writings from around the world! Skylar’s article, titled “Very Berry Pie,” includes a personal story of how she discovered a family berry pie recipe, and her experience in baking the pie with her grandmother.  The article also lists the full recipe, enabling readers to make the delicious pie at home.  Skylar loves to bake and she is a student in the ALPHA Reading Program at Greenview.  She began writing the article in October 2016 while in the ALPHA Reading Program at Adrian Elementary School.  Her ALPHA Reading teacher, Marcia Armbruster provided guidance and encouragement and helped Skylar submit the article to Stone Soup in January 2017.  The ALPHA Reading program serves students who are identified as academically gifted in reading and provides opportunities for enrichment and individual growth.

Skylar’s full article is available on the Stone Soup website.  Congratulations Skylar!
