A fun and creative student behavior incentive program at Memorial Junior High recently drew the attention of News 5 Cleveland. Reporter Jennifer Auh visited the school on Friday, October 27, 2017 to spotlight Memorial’s PBIS (Positive Behavior, Intervention and Supports) program, which recognizes positive behaviors and community service through incentives such as Arc Bucks, which can be redeemed for daily and weekly prize drawings. Several students and staff members were interviewed and shared about the positive impact the PBIS program has had on student behavior. School-wide events are another PBIS incentive popular with students. On Friday, October 27, students who met specific behavior goals had the opportunity to cheer on fellow classmates as they faced off against teachers, staff and members of the South Euclid Police Department in some friendly athletic competition, which included volleyball, basketball and fleetball. Students, parents and the entire SEL community can now watch the entire video of News 5 Cleveland’s visit to Memorial Junior High.
