Memorial Students Compete Against Staff in Second Quarter PBIS Program
To recognize those students who met behavior goals for the second grading quarter, Memorial hosted a fun-filled PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports) program in the new gym on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017.  Participating students had the opportunity to compete not only against each other, but their fellow teachers in a series of athletic-themed events.  The first event involved a relay race where team members representing each grade had to complete a different type of movement, including sprinting, dribbling a basketball and scooting backwards on a wheeled floor cart across the entire length of the basketball court.  The final and most highly anticipated event was a basketball tournament.
Students filled the bleachers throughout the entire event and cheered on their fellow students and teachers as they competed in a friendly competition on the court.  In addition to the sports themed activities, students enjoyed music and an ‘Arc Buck” raffle ticket drawing that featured a variety of different prizes.  Students receive ‘Arc Bucks’ when they are seen “doing the right thing at the right time,” including treating others with respect, and working hard in the classroom.  Keep up the great work Memorial!
