Three Brush Paintings Selected for the Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition

Congratulations to Brush High Seniors, Christal Mull and Lauren Smith whose art works have been accepted into The Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition, now in its forty-third year. From the 12,000 entries from across the state of Ohio, jurors accepted only 300 pieces to be displayed in the exhibition. All three paintings accepted this year were created in Ms. Curry’s AP Studio Art Drawing class. Lauren Smith is the first Brush graduate in history to receive two awards in one year, one of which received special recognition. Her painting, Animosity, was selected for the Cameo Displays; which will means her piece will be hung in the Governors Office.

The awards ceremony and art opening at will take place this Sunday, April 14th at the James A. Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus, Ohio. Works will remain on display through May 16th, 2013.
