Students and staff at Adrian Elementary School successfully raised $1,000 during the first week of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients campaign. All grade levels are participating in the three week fundraiser which involves classrooms collecting as many pennies and other spare change as possible before the end of April. All funds raised will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help fund blood cancer research and education, as well as patient-related services. Started in 1994, the Pennies for Patients campaign have raised over $211 million for cancer research and education in the United States and Canada.
