Brush Language Arts Teacher, Sallie Fine, Being Recognized as a Great Teacher and Brush Senior, Brandon McGhee, to Speak at Facing History and Ourselves Benefit Dinner
Congratulations to Sallie Fine, who is being recognized as a "Great Teacher" at the Facing History and Ourselves Benefit Dinner at the Cleveland Renaissance on October 23rd for her work with Cultural Awareness, Race and Equality (CARE). CARE is a new organization at Brush that was started last year. Geared towards improving the school climate at Brush High School, CARE has sponsored several programs, such as a bullying awareness program last February. As part of the bullying awareness program, students were invited to view the recently released documentary, "Bully" and then participated in student led discussion groups following the film.

In addition, Brandon McGhee, a widely accomplished senior at Brush High School, will speak at the Benefit Dinner. Brandon, the Homecoming King this year, was recently honored with the 2013 Princeton Prize for Race Relations, a prestigious distinction presented from Princeton University to a select number of students from across the country. Princeton established the coveted Prize for Race Relations nearly ten years ago for high school students who have demonstrated a commitment to improving race relations with integrity and character.

Congratulations Sallie Fine and Brandon McGhee for receiving these prestigious honors!
