Levy Volunteers Thank Community for Support with Special Rally

More than just motorists could be found during the start of the evening rush hour on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Mayfield and Richmond Roads as nearly 50 volunteers lined its southwest corner to thank the community for their support of Issue 115. Organized internally by SEL staff members, cold temperatures could not keep parents, staff and students from holding “thank you” signs for voting to pass the district’s operating levy just last week. Volunteers held levy signs, homemade signs of support and waved to motorists, who in turn, responded with gestures of support by tapping their car horns. Superintendent Linda N. Reid held a sign and walked the line of volunteers, encouraging them and thanking them for their hard work.

“The high level of volunteer support was the driving force for getting our message out to the community,” said Superintendent Reid.  “Thankfully, the communities served by the SE-L Schools responded and supported our cause.”
